It became immensely popular to women of this era because it was a symbol of a free spirited girl. As a girl cut her hair, she was know to be bolder. Many other styles like curling, perming, and coloring hair evolved showing more personalities in woman, from their hairstyles alone.
Makeup
Makeup was uncommon for women to wear and only performers or actors and actresses used it. When women started to become more bold and wearing heavy coats and types of makeup, it came as a shock to the society and brought more attention to the women and the flapper women.
