Men's Fashion
Men’s ware in the 1920’s is almost identical to the suits that men wear today. Many of the same styles and types of suits are still around today, and have continued to grow off of the same style of the 1920’s. Colors most seen in suits were greys, blues, greens and browns. Men mostly wore suits for day, evening, office, or parties and they were rarely seen without one.
The suits were made of wool based material and very heavy but lighter than previous decades. Many were single or double breasted suits that also featured lotch lapels by the center of the heart. The lapels are unique since the 1920’s because they have not been seen in other eras. Men’s suit top usually had 3 to 4 buttons that climbed up the center of the shirt similar to the shirts you see today.
Combined with the suit, men’s pants always matched the color and style of the suit top. Also there was a dark hard crease that ran down the front of the pant legs to add style and formality to the look. Pants had pockets on the sides, and are overall very similar to many suit pants and tops that you see to this day.
