Early Life
Coco Chanel was an orphaned child when her mother died at a young age. Although her childhood was a terrible time in her life, her future shined through by her magnificent career of fashion, and becoming a designer at age 20. Chanel did not imagine making clothes but on a chilly day, Chanel made a dress out of a old jersey, sparking attention of others. As she offered to make more and more clothing items for people, her business evolved into something greater. Chanel become an icon and her designs inspired others, and provoked the era of flappers, in which the views of women majorly changed.
Coco Chanel's Legend
Throughout her designing career, Coco Chanel became a local celebrity to many people in the 1920's. Promoting and leading the garments of flapper girls, she brought a new sense of modern style during and after the First World War. As her competitors around her became more out of date with the modern world, Coco Chanel advanced with her business through people loving her designs. She was the first to make more extravagant clothing that would later lead to women and the idea of Flappers.
